2018 will commemorate the 35th Anniversary of the New Jersey Law Enforcement Torch Run. On Friday, June 8th more than 3,000 officers will take to the streets of their local communities on one of 26 separate routes to help carry the "Flame of Hope" to the Special Olympics New Jersey Summer Games. The culmination of the run is the lighting of the Special Olympics New Jersey cauldron at the Opening Ceremony to officially open the 2018 Summer Games, an event that features more than 2,500 Special Olympics athletes.
On Sunday May 20, 2018 we will be having our Cuban Parade beginning at 2:00 PM and concluding at 5:00 PM.
The route of the Parade will cover the core business district of Bergenline Ave, considered one of New Jersey's premier commercial strips.
It will begin at 79th Street and Bergenline Avenue in North Bergen, New Jersey (Entrance to James Braddock Park) and conclude at 43rd
Street and Bergenline Ave in Union City, NJ. With a reviewing stand ceremony.
Our History
From the firs Cuban Parade in the year 2000 through 2017, the parade has attracted about 40 major sponsors and major media outlets and
this year we are expecting over 100,000 spectators
The primary purpose of the Police Unity Tour is to raise awareness of Law Enforcement
Officers who have died in the line of duty.
The secondary purpose is to raise funds for the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial
and Museum.
Every year, thousands of brave plungers take these words to heart as they take an icy dip into the Atlantic Ocean.
The plunges are a great way for everyone – individuals, teams, organizations and businesses – to get involved in supporting Special Olympics New Jersey. All funds raised go towards programming and events for more than 25,000 athletes statewide.
